Top Ten Ways to Reduce Environmental Impact
- Change a Bulb - Change the World
- Keep it green - plant a tree and don't use chemicals for lawns and gardens
- Choose a car with good mileage and keep it tuned up
- Walk, Bike, Car Pool or use Public Transport
- Turn it UP - your refrigerator to 37° and your freezer to 3° on vacation.
- Turn it DOWN - the clothes washer to warm or cold, your thermostat to 68° in winter and your water heater thermostat to 120F
- Turn it OFF - the lights when you leave a room, the computer at night and on weekends, the television and the computer games AND unplug appliances when you go
- Buy Energy Efficient Appliances
- Buy local food whenever possible
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
